Wildlife 1

Having come to linocutting late in life but still wanting to make a name for myself I set out to develop a "unique" style
of my own.

Utilising the odd shaped lino offcuts that I had collected in a box in my studio over the years I set about creating a style where the final image was subdivided into smaller sections.

Each section was treated as an individual linocut, was printed butting up against the previous section but did not entirely match in colour or register in detail. The finished print, often to an irregular format, took on a collage appearance.

This is the style that I have been perfecting over the years. I have been exhibiting my complicated linocuts with the Society of Wildlife Artists in London since 2007. In 2013 (50 years since the Society was originally founded) I was elected an Associate and in Autumn 2015 I attained Full Membership status.
